Der Evaluierungsgegenstand (EVG), der in diesem Protection Profile definiert wird, ist ein Road Works Warning Gateway als Teil der zugehörigigen Road Works Warning Unit, bei der es sich um eine elektronisches Gerät handelt, welches häufig auf Anhängern montiert ist, die den herannahenden Verkehr vor einer Straßenbaustelle warnen sollen. Der EVG selbst ist ein elektronisches Modul, welches in der Lage ist, Daten von die temporären Baustelle passierenden Fahrzeugen zu sammeln und diese für verschiedene Zwecke, wie Verkehrsüberwachung und Warnungen, zu nutzen.
The Target of Evaluation (TOE) described in this Protection Profile is a Road Works Warning Gateway as a part of the corresponding Road Works Warning Unit, which is an electronic device, mostly mounted on trailers that warn approaching traffic that road works is carried out. The TOE itself is the electronically driven module, which is able to collect data sent by bypassing vehicles near temporary road works using them for different features, like traffic surveillance or warnings.
