Der Evaluierungsgegenstand (EVG) ist eine externe GNSS (Globales Navigationssatellitensystem) Einrichtung im Sinne von Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/799 of 18 March 2016 - Anhang 1C. Es soll in einem digitalen Tachographsystem verwendet werden. Digitale Tachographsysteme enthalten Fahrzeugeinheiten, Bewegungssensoren, Fahrtenschreiberkarten, Fernkommunikationsmöglichkeiten (falls zutreffend) und Fernerkundungs-Lesegeräte.
Die Grundfunktionen der externen GNSS Einrichtung bestehen darin, den Standort und die Geschwindigkeit des Fahrzeugs sowie zugehörige Datum und Uhrzeit (sogenannte RMC- und AMC-Daten), Empfängerstatus und Informationen im globalen Navigationssatellitensystem selbst zu berechnen und zu speichern, und um diese Informationen der Fahrzeugeinheit zur Verfügung zu stellen.
The Target of Evaluation (TOE) addressed by the PP is an External GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) Facility in the sense of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/799 of 18 March 2016 - Annex 1C. It is intended to be used within a digital tachograph system. Digital tachograph systems contain vehicle units, motion sensors, tachograph cards, remote communication facilities (if applicable), remote early detection communication readers.
The basic functions of the External GNSS Facility are to calculate and store the vehicle’s location and speed, as well as related quantities such as date and time (so-called RMC and AMC data), receiver status and information on the Global Navigation Satellite System itself, and to make this information available to the vehicle unit.
