Der EVG ist der hard-macro Sicherheitskontroller N7121 mit spezieller IC-Software, einer zusätzlichen kryptographischen Bibliothek (Crypto Library on N7121) und der dazugehörigen Dokumentation des Befehlsatzes und der Nutzung des EVG. Der N7121 bietet hohe Sicherheit für Smartcardanwendungen, insbesondere für den Einsatz im Banken- und Finanzsektor, im E-Commerce oder in staatlichen Anwendungen. Kundenspezifische eingebettete Software ist nicht BestFandteil des EVG. Die spezielle IC Software besteht zum einen aus der “Test Software” und zusätzlicher unterstützender Software. Diese Software besteht aus der “Boot Software”, die den Bootprozess der Plattform kontrolliert und aus der “Firmware”, welche den Zugriff der eingebetteten Software auf die Hardware vereinfachen soll. Ein optional erhältliches “System Mode OS” bietet Kunden die Möglichkeit direkt mit der Applikationsentwicklung zu starten ohne sich mit den hardwarenahen Funktionen des EVG auseinandersetzen zu müssen. Das optionale “Flashloader OS” ermöglicht es Quelltext und Daten in den Flash durch eine Komposit-Hersteller laden zu lassen. Die optionale kryptographische Bibliothek (Crypto Library on N7121) bietet eine vereinfachte Nutzung häufig genutzter kryptographischer Algorithmen und Funktionen.
The TOE is the hard macro NXP Secure Smart Card Controller N7121, with IC Dedicated Software and an optional crypto Library (Crypto Library on N7121) and documentation describing instruction set and usage of the TOE. N7121 provides high security for smartcard applications and in particular for being used in the banking and finance market, in electronic commerce, or in governmental applications. The TOE does not include a customer-specific Security IC Embedded Software. The IC Dedicated Software comprises IC Dedicated Test Software for test purposes and IC Dedicated Support Software. The IC Dedicated Support Software consists of the Boot Software, which controls the boot process of the hardware platform. Furthermore, it provides a Firmware Interface and optionally a Library Interface, simplifying access to the hardware for the Security IC Embedded Software. An optional System Mode OS is available, offering implemented functionality for customers that do not want to be exposed to the more low-level features of the TOE. The optional Flashloader OS supports download of code and data to Flash by the Composite Product Manufacturer before Operational Usage (e.g. during development). The optional Symmetric Crypto Library provides simplified access to cryptographic algorithms and basic functions.
