Der “Renesas RS4FC128 and RS4FC128E integrated circuits version 01” ist für den Einsatz als Sicherheits-Controller vorgesehen. Er ist zum "Security IC Platform Protection Profile" konform und besteht aus Hardware, IC Dedicated Software sowie den Handbüchern. Zusätzlich zur CPU, welche von Renesas vom H8S CPU Kern abgeleitet wurde, enthält die Hardware im Wesentlichen folgende Komponenten: ROM, RAM, EEPROM, Zufallszahlengenerator (RNG), PKCC, AES Co-prozessor, DES Co-prozessor, CRC Co-prozessor, UART, drei Intervaltimer, WDT, FMU, IIC2 und zwei I/O lines. Der ROM-Speicher wird lediglich für die IC Dedicated Software verwendet. IC Dedicated Software ist im ROM-Speicher gespeichert. Sie besteht aus der IC Dedicated Test Software und der Secure Boot Loader Software. Die IC Dedicated Test Software wird nur in der Produktion verwendet und steht dem Benutzer nicht zur Verfügung. Mit Hilfe der Secure Boot Loader Software kann die Anwendungssoftware in den EEPROM-Speicher geladen werden.
The Renesas RS4FC128 and RS4FC128E integrated circuits version 01 are intended for use as a Security IC. The TOE ist conform to the "Security IC Platform Protection Profile", and consists of the hardware, along with IC Dedicated Software, and guidance documents. The hardware of the TOE comprises the following major blocks in addition to the CPU, which is derived from Renesas’ H8S general purpose core: ROM, RAM, EEPROM, random number generator (RNG), PKCC, AES coprocessor, DES coprocessor, CRC coprocessor, UART, three interval timers, WDT, FMU, IIC2, and two I/O lines. The ROM is used only for the IC Dedicated Software. The IC Dedicated Software is stored in the ROM. It consists of the IC Dedicated Test software and the Secure Boot Loader software. IC Dedicated Test Software is used in IC production only, and is not available to users. The Secure Boot Loader can be used by the users to download the application software into the EEPROM.
