Jede logische Partition stellt eine unabhängige Einheit dar und erlaubt den Einsatz handelsüblicher Systemkontrollprogramme wie z/OS™, /VM™, z/VSE, z/TPF™ oder Linux for System z.
PR/SM is a hardware facility running on IBM z14 and IBM LinuxONE systems that enables the resources of a single physical machine to be divided between distinct, predefined logical machines called "logical partitions". Each logical partition is a domain of execution, and is considered to be a subject capable of running a conventional system control program (SCP) such as z/OS™, z/VM™, z/VSE, z/TPF™, or Linux for System z.
