Online banking security

General advice for Internet use becomes particularly pertinent when it comes to online banking: criminals attempt to spy on user account and credit card data and use this to access the money customers have in their bank accounts.

The term online banking refers to the processing of banking transactions via the Internet. The services offered by financial institutions range from simply checking account balances or individual transactions to carrying out transfers and setting up standing orders and even to individual evaluations of account movements and investments.

Online banking has become a part of life for many people: according to the Germany’s digital association BITKOM, 70% of German citizens do their banking online (as of 2019).

You should take the issue of security in online banking particularly seriously - after all, it is your money that the criminals have in their sights.
