What is Virut?

Virut allows its operators to download any software and install it on the infected system without the user's consent. The operators of Virut sell this opportunity to various other malware operators.

How did I get infected with Virut?

Virut copies itself to all available removable media and network drives. When the infected media or drives are connected to a new system, the copy is run via an autostart configuration. enabling Virut to spread.
