International working groups and the Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA)

Within the scope of the CCRA (Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement), the following groups are involved in the coordination and further development of the Common Criteria.

1. Management Committee (MC CCRA)

The Management Committee is the most senior body for the International Common Criteria (CC) Recognition Arrangement (CCRA). All signatory parties are represented on the MC CCRA.

2. Common Criteria Executive Subcommittee (CCES)

The Common Criteria Executive Subcommittee is the body within the International CC Recognition Arrangement that deals with questions about certification schemes and the implementation of the Arrangement. Alongside representatives of the certification bodies, other signatory parties to the CCRA who do not themselves maintain a certification body, can be present as observers, subject to the approval of the Management Committee.

3. Common Criteria Development Board (CCDB)

The Common Criteria Development Board is the body within the International CC Recognition Arrangement that is responsible for the ongoing development of the Common Criteria and the Common Evaluation Methodology (CEM). The CCDB can also deploy additional technical working groups led by a specific country (a Lead Nation Group). Alongside CC and the CEM (Common Evaluation Methodology), topic-specific CC supporting documents are prepared with the aim of harmonising the security criteria and methodologies.
Alongside representatives of the certification bodies, the CCDB (Common Criteria Development Board) includes, subject to the approval of the Management Committee, representatives of other CCRA nations who do not themselves maintain a certification body but wish to actively participate in criteria development.

4. Common Criteria Maintenance Board (CCMB)

The Common Criteria Maintenance Board is the body responsible for maintaining existing versions and releases of the Common Criteria (CC) and the Common Evaluation Methodology (CEM). The CCDB processes change requests that are submitted by the national bodies. The Board is made up of representatives of all signatory parties to the Arrangement who participated in CC development and all nations operating certification bodies on the terms of the Arrangement.
