Certification as an IT (information technology)-Grundschutz consultant
The BSI offers personal certification as an IT-Grundschutz Consultant. To this end, the BSI has developed a curriculum for providers of training, which enables a two-stage programme of further training.
In the first step, participants can complete an IT-Grundschutz basic module followed by an exam to qualify as an IT-Grundschutz practitioner. In the next step, participants can proceed to certification as an IT-Grundschutz Consultant.
IT-Grundschutz consultants can provide assistance and support to public authorities and companies for projects such as the following:
- Rollout of an information security management system (ISMS)
- Development of security models
- Definition and implementation of suitable measures
- Expert support during the introduction of processesPreparation for an ISO 27001 audit on the basis of IT-Grundschutz can also be helped by support from an IT-Grundschutz Consultant.
Part of the certification process to become an IT-Grundschutz Consultant depends on participation in various training courses.
After completing the additional training course, interested applicants can then acquire certification as an IT-Grundschutz Consultant from the BSI. This requires the submission of an application. After submitting the application, interested parties can then complete the IT-Grundschutz Consultant examination at the BSI. Alongside the training courses mentioned above, other admission requirements must also be fulfilled: these can be found by consulting the "IT-Grundschutz Consultant programme". Proof of fulfilment must be submitted in full along with the application. The application and programme are linked to in the "Further information" box below.
Once the required documentation has been submitted and the exam has been passed, personal certification is the next step.
