TR-03109-4: Smart Metering PKI
Public key infrastructure for smart meter gateways
Technical Guideline TR-03109-4 specifies the architecture of the public key infrastructure for smart metering (SM-PKI). SM-PKI provides a foundation for securing WAN communications among the participants in the smart meter gateway infrastructure. In doing so, the PKI serves as a means of guaranteeing the authenticity of the public keys used in such communications.
The Technical Guideline in question also defines minimum requirements regarding interoperability and security that must be taken into account in the certificate policy (CP) for SM-PKI. In addition, it specifies profiles for the certificates and block lists to be used.
