Networks

Communication and transmission

Companies and organisations require data networks for the efficient design of working processes. Data networks are used to exchange information and data and to implement distributed applications. They enable collaboration to take place across locations and allow the connection of cloud and collaboration services. Conventional end devices, mobile end devices, additional company locations, the internet and, increasingly, IoT elements, are connected to data networks.

Protect your data network

Due to the large number of connected components, data networks are exposed to an increased risk of cyber attacks. An appropriate risk management strategy and corresponding IT safeguards are therefore essential to ensuring that business processes run smoothly. Appropriate safeguards include establishing secure network architecture and reliable network management.
You protect your own data network with secure network architecture. Building a local area network (LAN) or a wide area network (WAN) with a secure architecture requires planning. In addition, external networks that can only be trusted to a limited extent (e.g. the Internet or customer networks) must be integrated in a suitable manner.
In addition to secure network architecture, network management is the second important pillar in the design of your cyber-secure network. Management includes many important functions, such as network monitoring, component configuration, event handling and logging.
