Research and development to establish 5G/6G testing and certification bodies
Main topic 3
Research and development on innovative products and services in 5G certification are being promoted. This includes, for example, novel test set-ups and scenarios as well as the further development of tools for safety tests in the 5G area. Funding is available for individual and joint projects with at least one testing and certification body. Testing and certification bodies that significantly expand existing security tests of IT components and infrastructures can also be supported. If testing and certification bodies carry out novel testing procedures for AI-based network control, virtualisation or cloud-based approaches, they are also eligible for support. Feasibility studies are not part of this priority.
Individual and collaborative projects with commercial enterprises, universities or higher education institutions and non-university educational and research institutions are eligible to apply for funding under priority 3. Universities and research and educational institutions are only eligible to apply in cooperation with at least one company.
