Cyber Security Warnings

In its cyber security warnings, the BSI provides information on the following:

  • New and dangerous attack vectors that have come to light in individual cases of note (for example)
  • Manufacturer efforts to address known vulnerabilities, such as patches or security updates
  • Information aimed at IT managers, including on expiring update or patch support from manufacturers

Alongside public cyber security warnings, the BSI issues confidential cyber security warnings for certain target audiences. These are classified according to the traffic light protocol. Members and participants of the cooperation platforms can receive confidential warnings by subscribing to the corresponding newsletter:


1. Verwaltungs-CERT-Verbund (VCV) Germany: a platform for cooperation among CERTs in public administration in Germany

2. UP KRITIS: The CI Implementation Plan (www.upkritis.de) is a public-private partnership between critical infrastructure (KRITIS) operators, their associations, and the responsible regulatory authorities.

3. Alliance for Cyber Security: The Alliance for Cyber Security (ACS) is a public-private cooperation among companies, societies, associations, research institutions, and other organisations in Germany that seeks to strengthen cyber security in the country.
