CERT-Bund

CERT-Bund, the Computer Emergency Response Team for Germany's federal authorities, is the central point of contact for preventive and reactive measures related to security-relevant incidents in computer systems.
Its activities include the following:
- Preparing and publishing preventive recommendations for action to avoid damage
- Pointing out vulnerabilities in hardware and software products
- Proposing actions to remedy known security vulnerabilities
- Assisting in responding to IT security incidents
- Recommending reactive measures to limit or remedy damage
- Working closely with the IT Situation Centre and the IT Crisis Response Centre (and providing staff support to both).
The services offered by CERT-Bund are provided first and foremost to government agencies and currently include the following:
- A 24-hour on-call service together with the IT Situation Centre
- Analysis of incoming incident reports
- Provision of related recommendations
- Support in handling IT security incidents
- Operation of a Warning and information service
- Active alerts for the federal administration in the event of acute threats

Bürger-CERT
CERT-Bund also provides extensive information to interested private individuals through the Bürger-CERT warning and informations service. Bürger-CERT provides free and independent information on current malware attacks and security vulnerabilities in computer applications.
