The area of trust services has been applicable in all 28 EU member states and in the EEA since 01.07.2016. Since this date, corresponding services can be offered according to the eIDAS Regulation.

The eIDAS Regulation provides for trust services in the following areas:

• Creation, verification and validation of electronic signatures, electronic seals or electronic time stamps
• Delivery of electronic registered mail
• Creation, verification and validation of certificates for website authentication
• Preservation of electronic signatures, seals or certificates relating to these services

Qualified service providers that demonstrate conformity with the specific requirements for such services under the eIDAS Regulation and are awarded qualification status for doing so can promote their services with the new EU trustmark for qualified trust service providers.
