BSI approved radiation testing laboratories
These radiation test laboratories are authorised to carry out examinations according to SDIP 27 Level A or the National Zone Model with the aim of approval (e.g. an initial approval / type test).
The test plans are to be submitted to the BSI for approval and will be issued by the BSI

Radiation test laboratories authorised to carry out shor measurement procedures
Radiation-tested hardware can lose its radiation safety due to manufacturing faults, defects, ageing or manipulation - even without the function being noticeably impaired.
In order to be able to guarantee radiation safety nevertheless, VSA § 39 para. 1 regulates the performance of checks before initial use and at certain intervals. Short measurement procedures are developed for such checks. The short measurement procedures make it possible to carry out a test on the series device after manufacture, maintenance and repair with comparatively little time and material expenditure.
The zone short measurement procedure is a compressed version of the measurement procedure for zone approval. This measurement procedure is product-independent with fixed measuring instruments and measuring instrument settings.
A distinction is made between:
- Zone short measurement procedure
- Device-specific short measurement procedure
Radiation test laboratories for product-specific short measurement procedures
For products which are radiation tested according to SDIP 27 Level A and nationally approved, a device-specific short measuring procedure is always prepared.
These short measurement procedures are special measurement procedures with which critical areas for the respective device type are specifically checked. These measurement procedures require special measurement equipment and special measurement procedures and can therefore only be used for the intended device type.
