The Federal Virtual Post Office provides a central system for the use of cryptography as a basic "data security" component. It is intended to facilitate and support secure electronic communication on the public authority side between authorities and external partners. As middleware, it handles cryptographic operations associated with the use of electronic signatures and encryption.
