2. The State of IT Security in Germany 2022
In the 2022 State of IT Security in Germany report, the reasons for the high threat level are ongoing cybercrime activities, cyber attacks in the context of the Russian war against Ukraine and, in many cases, inadequate product quality of IT and software products. Overall, the already tense situation worsened further in the reporting period. The threat in the cyber space is thus higher than ever. As in the previous year, a high threat from cybercrime was observed in the reporting period. Ransomware remained the main threat, especially for companies.
