To enable you to check whether the newsletters really come from the BSI, they are sent signed. For the available signature options "PGP" and "S/MIME" you need an additional programme (plug-in) for your mail programme, if not already installed.

The e-mails are sent via the Federal Information Technology Centre (ITZ-Bund).

The certificate is available for download in three different formats. Please choose the file with the necessary extension for your mail programme. To verify the signature, the root certificate available here must be installed.

Note: In principle, the certificate is already installed in all common programmes.
