Organisation and structure

The Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) is the National Security Authority and the chief architect of secure digitalisation in Germany. Based within the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community, the BSI's head office is located in Bonn. The BSI also maintains other offices in Saarbrücken and Freital. The BSI currently employees around 1.552 people.

The BSI is headed by the Management Team, comprising President and Vice President, who are supported by the Management Office. The day-to-day work of the BSI is organised into eight Directorates-General. Each one consists of up to three separate sections. These sections are subdivided into various divisions.
