Vision: Together, we are building Cybernation Germany.
Cybersecurity is a national challenge – a challenge we can overcome only by working together. The Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) fulfils its responsibility as an integral part of the cybersecurity architecture and works in open and equal partnership with all stakeholders to achieve set goals and get the measures behind them in place.

Background
The cyber threat situation is a huge concern, wreaking untold loss and damage in business, administration and society as a whole. As a state and as a society, we are required to confront the dangers rigorously and fearlessly. Improving cybersecurity is a national challenge, and a non-trivial one at that. It calls for significant efforts, efficient and effective cooperation between all stakeholders and effective coordination of the measures involved.
The constantly rising number of vulnerabilities, attacks and the economic consequences quickly highlight the scale of the problem. Solutions must be devised in adequate dimensions: We need Cybernation Germany to reign supreme over cybersecurity and digitalisation. Our aspirations and the way we see ourselves should be equally important.
Strategic Goals
The following six strategic goals have been defined for Cybernation Germany. They will guide our actions and bundle the measures involved.
Procedure overview
6. Building a thriving cyber market in Germany
In the golden triangle of business, science and government, we are creating a vibrant ecosystem for cybersecurity products and services that address our challenges efficiently and effectively.
And so it goes on:

Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser, together with BSI President Claudia Plattner, gave the green light for Cybernation Germany on 6 February 2024 at the opening of the new National IT Situation Centre. We are now working with everyone involved to make this vision a reality.
